My Chinese Language Proficiency

The HSK (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì, which means Chinese Language Level Test) is given monthly at test centers around the world.

On October 30, 2021, I took and passed the HSK Level 3 test with relatively high scores. However, because of the Covid outbreak, the exam was given online and I did not receive a certificate.

Hanban (the Chinese government's Center for Language Education and Cooperation) explains that the HSK 3 exam:

"… assesses test takers' abilities in the application of everyday Chinese … Test takers who are able to pass the HSK (Level III) can communicate in Chinese at a basic level in their daily, academic, and professional lives. They can manage most communication in Chinese when traveling in China."

The HSK tests listening comprehension (
听力), reading comprehension (阅读), and writing ability (写作). The passing score for each section is 60. My scores are shown below: 85 for listening, 90 for reading, and 76 for writing.

I am currently studying for
the HSK 4 (High Intermediate) exam.
